ANSI provides this read-only IBR Portal on behalf of certain SDOs to facilitate public access to their copyright-protected standards which have been incorporated by reference into federal legislation. ANSI believes the standards developed by SDOs are works of authorship protected by U.S. and international copyright law, that such works do not lose their copyright protections simply because they have been incorporated by reference into legislation, and that this IBR Portal is of one many ways to make incorporated-by-reference documents "reasonably available" to persons affected by such legislation.
